Kayaker dies in Port Washington harbor

PORT WASHINGTON - A 24-year-old man has been confirmed dead by the Port Washington Police Department.Port Washington Fire Department water rescue crews pulled the kayaker from the water early Saturday afternoon.It happened about 300 yards northeast of the Port Washington Marina.Crews pulled the 24-year-old man into a rescue craft and began CPR. He was then transferred to the Aurora Medical Center. It appears the man was kayaking and somehow separated from the kayak. There is no reason to believe anyone else in involved.The Port Washington Police Department, U.S. Coast Guard, and Wisconsin DNR all assisted in the rescue and investigative efforts.
